Uber. Pownage.

South Park - the World of Warcrat Episode. 20-some minutes of hilarity only gamer geeks can understand.

Speaking of geek and nerdy, here’s my favorite video of the moment:

Back in Business

Hello my darlings! I’m back! I’m BACK!

Thanks you guys for keep stopping by and checking in on me and shooting me emails. Really happy to know I was missed.

The event came and went on Thursday. Tons of headaches and a case of disappearing tables, but we worked through it just fine. Pretty good turn out and everyone had a great time.

My friend Eva transformed me from the spectacled tomboy-geek into a gorgeous little Asian goddess. She also did make up on Amy and Celeste. So there you go. Look at the hottest women of the evening! (No I’m not full of ourselves or anything. We were all practically glowing because we were reliefed it was over! Hahaha!)

Out of the respect for folks at work, I made most of the pictures private, but you can see a few of them still. Folks on my Flickr friends list can see everything though.

The silent auction went quite well. A few items didn’t sell. One I had my mind on was a package deal for a 3-day conference in Bangkok in November plus round trip tickets on Korean Air for $500! Pretty much you’re just paying for the cost of the conference at fly for free at that price. That thing ended up with no bid! I mean, I could offer to take it off the company’s hand.

I seriously pondered about it, but decided that with the conference schedule jampacked, and if I had to be by my Big Boss’ side the entire time to earn the 3 day as work day, that left me no time to be with my family. So, yeah, it could’ve been a good deal if I have vacation days left, but I don’t. *sigh*

Anyhoo. It came down to this for the week recap.

Monday - I worked a full day after a Friday of staying late at work.
Tuesday - I skipped half of lunch to assist the video guy with the video.
Wednesday - I left the office at 8 p.m.
Thursday - Event. I spent the night at Nhien’s.
Friday - Came to work late. Finished stuff and headed out at 1 p.m. James, Aurora and Shane picked me up from the bus station and we got fish tacos and beer. Brandon and I crashed for the rest of the afternoon.

Yesterday was a true sign that things have returned to normal in this neck of the woods.

I woke up around 10 and started the pot roast in the crock pot. Watched Food Network and then it was game time. USC barely escaped Washington 26-20. Holy fuckity! Yet, another reason I should start working out. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! If our team keeps this up, man, I’m not going to live to be 30.

After the game, Brandon and I went out for some frisbee golf. The course was PACKED. We kept getting stuck behind big groups even after the previous on let us play through. On top of that, I kept throwing into the trees. Yep. I’m definitely rusty.

We stopped and Trader Joe’s then came home, had dinner, and got caught up with the all the Tivo’ed stuff. I fell asleep on the couch. Brandon got me up and into bed. As I was taking my medication for the night, he made a joke.

And my god, I never choked on water/pill like that in my life!

I thought I was going to die. He thought I was going to die. I couldn’t catch my breath, kept getting water when I tried to breath in. I couldn’t tell him anything and he damn near come over to do a heimlich. Goodness gracious!! I kept coughing for another good 10 minutes, tears streaming.

Afterward though, we continued to giggle over the ordeal. Yep. My husband is so funny he almost literally killed me with a joke.

And here we are at another normal Sunday. We just sort of woke up. I started off with a blog and Brandon checked in on this game. Tomorrow we have the day off. Ah…I love being on County holiday schedule. :)

It’s good to be back!

What the frell???

*UPDATE* I did email the folks and complain. So did Richard, owner of Thai-Blogs. They finally took down my “devil goes to work” picture. At least they’re civil, thank god!

Look whose picture turned up on Khmer440 - Cambodia bars, restaurants, travel and living » Blog Archive » Cambodia Barworld Studies: Bar Banishment

WHAT THE FUCK????

And yeah, how cute is the made up story about me there too:

Yeah. She was my girlfriend in California for a couple months when I was picking oranges. I took the photo, but we both had prints. So she probably scanned hers and that’s how it got on the blog. She’s half Spanish, half Thai, and yeah she got married after I broke her heart. I just thought there was too much of an age difference to make it work in the long term, and she always wanted me to take off my eye-patch (lost the eye to a chicken’s claw) during sex. I just couldn’t take it.

And I was going to have myself a good morning. Goddamnit! Well, at least a Thai-Blogs reader alert me to this, or else I would’ve float about as a face for Cambodian bar girl. Jesus, Buddha and Vishnu!

Not dead…but close

Will disappear for a few days, kiddies. The awards dinner madness is in full swing.

Please entertain yourself by visiting my newly reorganized blogroll. Lots of good reads!

Don’t you forget me now!

Honor

I feel honored by your over 10,000 visits, folks. I will show more of my appreciation in the coming days, namely after our big awards dinner on Thursday night. Let the madness past and I will be able to communicate more clearly. :)

In the meantime, the story below inspires a post.

His Corps Value Was Bravery - Los Angeles Times

On Nov. 10, 2004, in 30 minutes of close combat, Marine Pfc. Christopher Adlesperger attacked an enemy stronghold in Fallouja, Iraq, and killed at least 11 insurgents after they shot and killed his best friend. He also protected two wounded squad members from attack and saved innumerable Marines. Although injured, he refused to be evacuated until his friend’s body was recovered.

THAT is truly inspiring and truly deserving to be honored.

This week is going swell…

Good News:

An unofficial translation of the interim constitution has been posted on the Nation website.

No, I haven’t read it. Too early for that crap.

The interim government is forming. Yippee.

Bad News:

Especially when you have no hot water to shower with in the morning. Well at least the entire 10 minutes I stood around, waiting and waiting and waiting…

So while waiting, I heated up a kettle of water and took a sponge bath. By the time I was done, the shower still ran cold.

I’m planning on taking a hip-hop dance class tonight. I think I have to call my aunt and bum the shower again. *sigh*

Good News:

I had over 10,000 viewers as of yesterday!!! I don’t know who the lucky 10,000th person is but Nicky came in at 9,999. So, I think he maybe the one to get cookies.

Closing in on 10,000 visitors!

EVERYBODY, WATCH THE BLOGPATROL COUNTER!

If you happen to be here and it says 10,000, PLEASE, I beg of you, to leave a comment. Identify yourself. You never know. If you leave me your email address, I may even send you some of my fabulous cookies as a celebration present!

(US lurkers only, sorry international community. A girl can only afford so much postage. Heh.)

And if you’re here after the 10,000, please also do leave comments and help me celebrate such a great milestone for the OakMonster’s Den.

Who knew that the idea of creating a blog to update people on my life would turn into a little site with a whole bunch of visitors from all over the place. I have made many new friends here on the blogosphere, and it’s truly been a pleasure.

Thank you. Everyone. For stopping by, lurking, and reading.

On the Road to Recovery

Interim Prime Minister has been named, and his name is General Surayud Chulanont. The former military leader is taking the spotlight among criticism that the “junta” is still controling the government for the year until the promised election.

Sure, he has a military background, but he is also trusted by the King. If the King’s game, I’m game.

Not to mention, picking Surayud for this post over the WTO guy (I’m sorry I forgot his name) is a good choice. Why? So when times come for the election, we’ll have someone qualified and available to run the country.

The last time we had the coup and horrible bloody uprising, the King selected the perfect man to set the country straight. Anand Panyarachund put us on the right course for recovery, and he held his interim post fantastically. We wanted him to stay, but he declined and bowed out gracefully.

In this case, I’m just hoping, by the time election comes around, the WTO guy could step up and be Anand and get us right back on our feet and move forward.

Another point on this development.

The draft of the constitution so far give the junta the power to sack the prime minister.

Good.

Well, hell. We NEED the military to overlook the reform. You know why? Because if there is no control now, guess what is going to happen to the constitution all over again. Yep. Loopholes. Loopholes to let someone be in power and hold the country hostage like Thaksin has done.

Military control over the process will instill fear into people who are looking to do just that.

It’s a tough love medicine our country is needed.

And on unrelated note:

My favorite princess has a blog! Sort of. Thai Crown Princess Sirindhorn started a blog entry for the British Council to encourage Thais to learn English. It’s unclear if the blog will be updated or not at the moment.

But, your highness, with all due respect, if somehow this blog entry ever gets to you, please do create a blog. As a big fan of your work since I was a child, I admire your voice and your knowledge. I have always looked up to you. And it would be an honor to read your thoughts and learn from your wisdom if you choose to post it online.
