Memorial Day ponderance

I often say I don’t have a stand about the War in Iraq. Because I don’t. I don’t care why our troops were sent over there. But I care that they are there now. I don’t care if PODUS is an idiot. I care that troops are risking their lives right now. Soldiers have been deployed already. They are getting shot at and blown up already. Standing around in the safety of US soil they protect and bitching about the war may help bringing them home sooner, but it’s not bringing them home right now or bringing anyone back from...

Spanish Inquisition

The Spanish Team won the Tsunami Memorial Design Competition Congratulations, ladies! (A week late.) Although, I must confess that I was rooting for the Australian team. I did love that underwater light show idea, but it was a bit too ambitious for Thailand. I did like American team’s design because it blends in with the environment. But then again, that might just be too much. Finland won me over with the banana leaf boats idea, but that was all there is for me there. And finally, Belgium. It looks great. Just not for this secluded lagoon. Anyhoo. Congratulations, you guys!...

Idolized

I don’t watch American Idol, but as a pop culture fiend, I’ve been following the results by listening to Ralph talks about it on Kevin & Bean Show on KROQ. Sure, Ralph is totally in love with Katherine McPhee. Afterall, it’s him who coined “McPheever”. But after watching a brief glimpses of her here and there, I do agree with him. She has a great voice. And yeah, she’s hot. That Hicks guy? Sorry. He doesn’t wow me. Period. My question to you today: McPhee or Hicks? Nonetheless, I will be watching LOST finale tonight. After all, I had a...

Spontaneous Combustion

I feel like I’m going to burst into flames. California heat is a dry, desert heat. Unlike the environment I grew up in of staggering humid heat, CA heat will suck you dry without you even knowing it. So, to hang out in a hot, inland California day, one must hydrate herself…with water. Not mead. Sunday, we went to Renaissance Pleasure Faire and had a grand time. So grand in fact, that I didn’t think to drink much water through out the day in the sun and heat. Instead, I was sipping my wee little cup of ice cold mead....

Football fever?

I don’t watch NFL. Could never get into it. But now I have 3 reasons why I will start following NFL this upcoming years. 1. My Dreamboat dweller Matt Leinart will play for AZ Cardinals. 2. Lendale White, the Thunder, will play for Tennessee Titans with USC’s mortal enemy, Vince Young. 3. Reggie Bush will be whistling dixie with New Orleans Saints. So, okay. I don’t know much about the NFL and the whole drafting process. From what I’ve read, Matty was supposed to go to the Titans or NY Jets and Reggie to Texas. The theory on Matty accordingly...
