The way you move

“Make a letter U with your butt is how I can best describe this,” explained Adrienne on how to do that go-go dips to our Burlesque class of 4 tonight at Moondance Studios. “I don’t move so well at 71,” the lady in the front joked. “Oh, come on. You’re not that old,” Adrienne encouraged her more. “I’m serious!” “Adrienne, my mom is REALLY 71,” The other lady answered.  She looked like she’s in her late 40s if not early 50s. Jaws dropped around the room. “I’m the 5th child,” the Daughter said. “Out of 6.” I am so serious,...

Here comes the bride

Everyone say “Congratulations, Elan!” The Glamour Geek is getting married this weekend. Last night Elan’s sisters and her friend host a bridal shower this lovely mansion home in LA. Irena’s fantastic friends hosted face and body paint artist Kari Ivey last night. Of course, I partook....

Then came the questions about why I blog about a grocery store. Why especially would I give a business free publicity and get nothing in return? Do I feel like I was taken advantage of? I know that it is his job to ask the questions and get to the bottom of why some random person would start blogging about a grocery store and expect nothing in return. The fact that...

The Day

The first anniversary of my mom’s passing is here. My heart is heavy. I picked up red roses, her favorite, at the Farmer’s market yesterday. Looking at them in the elevator, tears welled up. But I didn’t cry. Brandon held me this morning before he left for work. I didn’t want to wake up this morning. I just want to stay asleep. But I did wake up. I had to. Somebody has to put the roses in a vase for mom. I talked to my dad a while ago. The entire crew of aunties and the family went to the...
