Five For Friday: My First Paleo Meal, Manhattan, and Burpees

OakMonster.com - Anais + Tara Paleo Feast

Five for Friday is a weekly (well, almost) series about the five new things I learned each week. It could be anything from a new recipe, new skills, or a new life lesson. This is a week of MANY firsts! My First Paleo Meal Breaking news: Paleo diet is not gross. Well, at least at Anais + Tara’s Paleo Feast it is not. (For those who don’t know about Paleo diet, read here.) Of course, being the one on the Eat ‘Em All diet, I’d never refuse myself of any culinary pleasure. Well, except for beets. I can live without...

Hooters Peanut Butter Pie is no more

Five for Friday is a weekly series about the five new things I learned each week. It could be anything from a new recipe, new skills, or a new life lesson. Welcome to the Five For Friday: Saturday edition! Because I’m a dork and I sent the publishing time wrong. LOL  I also learned something else new when I went out for a walk this morning. So…here you go! I Gained 10 lbs. For Nothing Well, I’m sure you’ve already read about my disappointment of not being able to donate blood despite finally having met the weight requirement. Taking a Leap: One Year Later

Today is the first anniversary of my not having a full-time job. And what a year it has been!  I started it with 2 weeks in New Zealand, connecting with my cousins and traveling with my dad. (And I still don’t have all of the pictures up online yet!)  Then for a few months, I tried my hands at being my own boss and found that I had much to learn.  A few odd jobs later, with a lead from my friend Matt, I landed at Saatchi LA and found a workplace I have been searching for.  That 4-week contract...

SDCC is on my bucket list. Nerd Mecca must be experienced once before I die. Some people have Paris and...

Enjoy the Little Things

At 4 a.m. this morning, I was jolted out of sleep by a bout of vertigo. Oh yeah. It’s back. Just a little over a week of having been on my feet again. #FML. Seriously. Fortunately, this one doesn’t seem to have the strength of the original version, but it was enough to nauseate me already.  I woke Brandon up, poor thing, to fetch me an anti-nausea pill. He asked if I want to do the Epley maneuver right away. I chose to sleep comfortably for a few more hours then do it when I’m actually ready to get up....

My Week in Vertigo

Hello, hello. I’m a place called Vertigo… Bono clearly has never had vertigo.  He has never been to where the entire world spins in front of your eyes and the floor shifts beneath your feet, so much so that you were thrown to the floor from how disoriented you are. Where you are so dizzy your stomach makes like a snitch and gives up everything it has. It was a horrible place to be.  And that was where I found myself on Saturday night. The day started out just like any other busy Saturdays. Early afternoon quick visit to a...
