Touched down on US soil on Valentine’s Day at 8:30 p.m. Got home at 10:30 and promptly went to bed. Woke up and got to work for Board meeting at 6:30 a.m. and toughed out the day. Today, not so much toughing out. At 3 p.m. I was a husk of a human being so at 4 I limped home. Jetlag sucks. Although the effect is noticeably diminished by flying direct instead of the usual stop-and-go. And we’re moving this weekend to Los Alamitos. If you know me and haven’t received the “we’re moving email”, email me. Not much time...

Yep. Still in BKK. Getting on the plane tomorrow though. For sure. After seeing mom on Friday morning, still feeling yucky from chemo and now a little disheartened that I’m leaving, I decided to stay until, well, tomorrow. It was a decision that was worth it. Today, mom’s eating more. Or at least less resistant to me bossing her around to eat some more. LOL. She looks great and has been up out of bed or at least more alert today. The doctor said yesterday that the worst is over for her. She reacts to chemo wonderfully–a little nauseaus but...

Mom’s doing good so far after her first chemo session. She’s been worried sick–quite literally–for the past few days, dreading chemo. From what she’s heard from others and witnessed her best friend go through, mom’s been horrified. First, they put her on a whole bottle of IV. Then another small bottle to go with the anti-nausea and other medication to help her along. About 12 hours after we checked in, at 8 p.m. last night, they started her chemo. We were fortunate to know an off duty nurse from the same hospital to come watch over mom over night. I...

Dial up = Hell. So I will be brief. Feb 2 Whirlwind arrival. Busy all day doing all sorts of stuff. Feb 3 Whirlwind shopping. Went out and shopped like crazy with Joy and Lily. Feb 4 The wedding. Morning send-off instead of the end of the evening so the parents could go home, and the kids can party all night long. Kids reception was quite fun. Feb 5 Off to Phuket and on to Phang-Nga. Visited the site for tsunami memorial in Khao Lak and met the finalist architects. And the press. Went all over Phang-Nga to see the...

Tonight’s the night! Off I go, flying straight through to Bangkok. 12-nish hour flight that seems to be minimizing the jetlag going that way. I leave around 11 p.m. getting there 7 a.m. Thursday morning. If I sleep through, I’d be good to go. Gotta love it! I hope to be able to blog here and there during the trip. Well, if my brother would let me use his laptop at home. Heehee. (Are you reading this, bro??) See you from the other side of the world!...

The apartment we looked at the other day? Ours. We move in the 15th, paying half month rent and half security deposit. The Pirate’s Dinner Adventure show? Fun. Although our red pirate Jack didn’t win a goddamn thing. I participated in one of the pirate challenge–we were assisting our pirate–but one broad on our team didn’t know how to raise a flag so Jack lost. That mangy wench! Anyhoo. It was a lot of fun. The suitcase going home? Packed. Feeling a bit like a drug dealer as the content of bag is composed of mostly vitamins and Tylenol Allergy...
