It’s 11 p.m.

My wake up call is 5:15 a.m. My back up wake up call is 5:30 a.m. Must leave the house by 5:45 a.m. I’m dead tired. But my hair needs a bit of air drying time.  Yep.  Washed my hair tonight to keep my wake up call at 5:15 instead of 4:45. Brandon decided to turn our wall heater on for the first time all winter.  I LOVE HIM!!! Mother Nature has been throwing us some cold spell lately.  This morning, I stepped off my car on to the patch of grass on the sidewalk.  Itsy bitsy crunching noises came...

Getting ready for the big time

With any luck, kiddies, I will relocate the Den over to OakMonster.com over this LONG weekend. Yes, we have MLK Day off. I’m sorry if I’m gloating. I used to not have it off, and now that I do, I take a little pleasure in rubbing it into folks who don’t. Hehee. Telling you, man. I *AM* evil. With the move on the way, you may see the lack of updates and perhaps even odd things at this joint. And when you peek at OakMonster.com, you may see different thing everyday. In the meantime, I’ll keep the new adventure over...

I’ve gone and got tagged

I was just minding my own business, going through my daily blog reading list, and then *BAWHAM*, KorBua tagged me. Because she’s like a twin sister I never had–and seriously, we shared the same birthday, 9 years apart–I must oblige. 6 WEIRD THINGS ABOUT ME THE RULES: Each player of this game starts with the ‘6 weird things about you.’ People who get tagged need to write a blog of their own 6 weird things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don’t forget...

What can I say about the weekend?

You know what I was going to say about this weekend? Of course you do. Fan. Fucking. Tastic! Well, except for the death of Mario Danelo. Everything else has been fabulous. First of all, I went running on Friday. Well, I did “run” for 10 minutes straight at 3.2 (or was it 3.7??) speed before I started to run out of breath. That really surprised me given that the last time I tried to run, I ran out breath in the first 5 minutes. The machine is making me keep a pace, so that helps a bunch. I know I...

What wagon?

Thursday night, my work happy hour group checked out the Wieland Brewery, the new underground location in Downtown LA. Their beer is surprisingly good. AND cheap. Happy hour $2.50 pint for their own brew. I come to love their amber. Others, the Hef and the Blonde. The hot wings are excellent, tender and a little crispy and just the right spice level. It’s baked into the wings, not drenched in messy sauce, also a bonus. And the happy hour menu is also cheap. Those drinking the house brews walked out with minimal damage. A few others who ordered Chimay at...

Drink ’till they’re cute

Well, more like tolerable. 😉 You’ll find out here in a bit what I’m talking about. Dinner with my girlfriends last night was fantastic. It was “Appetizers for dinner” potluck at Brenda’s instead of going out to a restaurant. Everything dish had cheese in it and the gracious host kept pouring the wine. I brought over 3 smaller version of Giada’s Mini Italian Club Sandwiches and 1 with just the egg and cheese plus added tomato slices for Lee, our lone vegatarian. Instead of the big foccacia round, I used 4 freshly made Italian rolls I bought from Downtown sandwich...
