Nerdvember Day 6: Galaxy Quest

Inspiration: Tawny Madison of Galaxy Quest. Components: Red scoop neck. Grey hoodie. Star pennant my mom gave me. (Real diamond in the middle, yo!) And for the hell of it, Star Wars shoes. #Nerdvember Day 6: Never give up! Never surrender! Tawny Madison is shaking her head at this I’m sure. #GalaxyQuest #settostunning A photo posted by oakley boren (@oakmonster) on Nov 11, 2014 at 7:14am PST Challenges: I realized that I really don’t have that many geek accessories which sometimes could make putting together these outfits a bit of a challenge. Comment from Muggles: After I told them this was...

Nerdvember Day 5: Indiana Jones

Inspiration: Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark Components: White tank top. White button down shirt. Khaki. Brown leather jacket. Keffiyeh-ish hand-woven scarf from Thailand. #Nerdvember Day 5: Indiana Jones. A lazy one. LOL #settostunning A photo posted by oakley boren (@oakmonster) on Nov 11, 2014 at 7:00am PST Challenges: Southern California weather is swinging like a teenage girl’s mood. So, I couldn’t possibly wear the jacket AND the scarf at the same time. But that’s okay though. I don’t want to wear a leather jacket indoor when it’s 90F outside, and the scarf was just perfect to protect me from the...

#Nerdvember: a Creative Challenge

I’ve learned about #Nerdvember from my network of geek girls about a week before Halloween. #NERDVEMBER is a month-long contest we run over on Instagram. Participants are challenged to post a photo of themselves in a geek-themed outfit every single day of November. Outfits can range from something obviously geeky like wearing a Batman shirt or Star Wars leggings, or more vague, like an outfit inspired by a character through the use of a specific color palette. OakMonster.com - The Hobbit Diet

And it was done. YAY! The FIRST of my 2014 goals off the list. Let me conclude this journey properly in the same style of the series with the 5 Thoughts. #1 The question I get a lot is if eating all day helps lose weight. But then again, I wasn’t working out during most of the month. MAYBE if I had stuck with my usual workout schedule and...

I’m going to celebrate in style today and eat really, REALLY well! Bring on the feast! I haven’t over indulged in a meal this whole month…until now. Holy over eating, Batman… Now what am I going to write on my blog? LOL Today’s Photo As I said, best nostalgia for your buck. Breakfast The last of the leftover pork chop and vegetables. Second Breakfast Orange juice. Elevensies Shin Sen Gumi 1/2 bowl ramen with an egg...

Day 30: Today By Numbers

Super-Supper Live Journal - Chayote Hand

5 Thoughts ONE more day at work before the weekend. We can get through this! TWO more days on this challenge. THREE is the speed of which I use to forward through Prisoners. That movie was much too slow even for a “slow burn.” FOUR thirty was my beauty appointment. Not 4:45 I thought it was. Whoops. FIVE forty five is my dinner appointment at Curtis Stone’s Maude next Tuesday. My coworker Alex has been on a waiting list. Once she got them on the phone, we pretty much picked apart the rest of the availability for June. Today’s Photo...
