Glee

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNU0KoBIIdE] The show hasn’t even started yet but I have Glee on my brains. Talentless little outcast who just wants to sing.  My life story?  Yep, pretty much. Also, once a choir geek, always a choir geek. Since I saw the clip a couple of days ago, I have music–just random songs–playing in my head all day and caught myself walking around singing or humming. Not that I’ve been extraordinary happy or anything.  I just feel like singing. I mean, I was waiting for the bus today.  Looking around the people around me, I imagined myself breaking into a song....

Unplugged

I was quite an interesting experiment last night. If  you’ve been following my tweet (as you should…@oakmonster), you would know that my office experienced an internet outtage yesterday afternoon. I found myself texting in my tweets about the outage. When I got home though, I decided to unplug altogether. I went to grab dinner with Brandon without my phone, and when I got back, I didn’t turn the computer back on at all. Then again, I was busy. I baked another one of Nigella’s Guinness Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting per Brandon’s coworkers’ request.  In between that, I sat...

I want to go home

I technically haven’t been “home” since Monday.  Work has been driving me bonkers with how crazy busy it’s been. I got home on Monday for 5 minutes and Brandon whisked me off to see “Taken”.  Holy crap, Liam Neeson is scary.  He really did carry the movie.  If it was somebody else, that movie would not have been that good.  But I digress. Tuesday was Spamalot night.  I didn’t get home until 8 p.m.  Brandon was nursing a stress/sinus headache when I got home so we just went to bed. Wednesday was yoga night.  Brandon finally was available to go...

Delurk! Delurk! Delurk!

Hey, you.  Yeah, YOU!  De-lurk.  Now! Delurking Day is when you, my readers, reveal yourself. Leave a comment here to say hello to the world.  Some of you are here all the time but never left a comment.  Some just dropped in on accident, you too can show yourself.  This would be the day to do that and show the blogosphere–and yours truly–some love. And thanks to Rude Cactus for letting me in on this great day! Now….a quick weekend recap. Friday party with Candice the Goodbye Girl. Tequila stained clothing included.  Saturday at Slumdog Millionaire with the girls.  Sunday...

Game on

The Olympics had begun, y’all. I was at Katie’s wedding last night so I missed most of the celebration during the first broadcast.  However, I did catch the US and Thai national teams marched into the stadium.  And I tivo’ed the rerun to watch again this morning. “Cousin” Nicky is reporting prolifically from Beijing on their adventures so far.  And tonight, May takes the court.  So please tune in on the computer at 9 p.m. PST (California time), Thais and Americans everywhere, to cheer her on. LA Times Olympics Blog also got to talk to May a bit as she...
