Port of Love

Long Beach Tweet Up group led by @DaNanner (aka Annette), with the help of @LBMatt outdid ourselves today with the photo walkabout at the Port of Long Beach.  Well, Matt got us interested with the Port’s photo contest.  And then as the Tweet Up started to take shape, he got his boss involved. And here we were this morning at the Port Authority building, getting access to the rooftop and driven down winding and confusing roads around the port in the POLB vans to take great photos. Of course, the AWESOME group of people we hung out with for two...

Long Weekend

This weekend has been one of the longer ones I had in a while. Don’t get me wrong, I still had just 2 days like everyone else, but it felt like a week. I guess when you helped others, pampered yourself, and did things you love, it was just as rewarding as a weekend away on a vacation. It’s hard to belief that I voluntarily rolled out of bed at 6 a.m. on Saturday morning, but I did.  I was up to bake chocolate croissants to take over to my friend Greg’s garage sale fundraiser for his very first AIDS...

Holy Trinity Weekend

It’s over. My big event is all done.  Hellooooo, normal life! Kind of. I have next week to get content to our web people and we need to launch that puppy at the end of next month. But today, I will wrap up other things and will lunch at Drago Centro. Yep. Treating myself to a Dine LA menu as a celebration of having managed a sold-out event and having been with the Office for 4 years. I’ve also been blogging a little prolifically at the food blog since I started to remember to pick up my camera when I...

Spamtastic Wednesday

Spamalot preview at the Music Center was a lot of fun. Oh, look. There’s a giant can of SPAM! As the group ticket coordinator, I was invited to preview the show coming to LA in July. I brought Nhien along. Poor girl has not the knowledge of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail or anything Pythonesque. Her and a few others were wondering why there were mylar balloon cows everywhere. John O’Hurley is hilarious. We can hardly wait! The usual grainy movlog video here: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gVbTM4aT34]...

25 Things a la Facebook

I had a feeling I might have done this before but for the life of me, I can’t find it on the blog.  I guess if I can’t remember, then it never really happened. Since I got tagged bajillion times on Facebook for this, and for some reason I’m not even tired, here’s my random 25. I’m ambidextrous. Sort of. Think I was born a lefty but then was made to use my right hand.  I write with my right.  Shoot hoops and pick up heavy stuff with my left.  I bat left because as a lefty forced to play...

Greased Lightning

My week came at me fast and left just as quickly. It seems like yesterday when I was just here, happily typing away, telling you guys about our hike at Holy Jim trail. Here we are, a week after.  Went by me in a blink. Inauguration Day was also our 7th wedding anniversary.  It was a new beginning for the country I live in and quite a momentous moment in my marriage. Last year, people said that America would rather elect a woman than a black man as president.  Here stands Barrack Obama in front of millions, the day after...
