Back in Business

Hello my darlings! I’m back! I’m BACK!

Thanks you guys for keep stopping by and checking in on me and shooting me emails. Really happy to know I was missed.

The event came and went on Thursday. Tons of headaches and a case of disappearing tables, but we worked through it just fine. Pretty good turn out and everyone had a great time.

My friend Eva transformed me from the spectacled tomboy-geek into a gorgeous little Asian goddess. She also did make up on Amy and Celeste. So there you go. Look at the hottest women of the evening! (No I’m not full of ourselves or anything. We were all practically glowing because we were reliefed it was over! Hahaha!)

Out of the respect for folks at work, I made most of the pictures private, but you can see a few of them still. Folks on my Flickr friends list can see everything though.

The silent auction went quite well. A few items didn’t sell. One I had my mind on was a package deal for a 3-day conference in Bangkok in November plus round trip tickets on Korean Air for $500! Pretty much you’re just paying for the cost of the conference at fly for free at that price. That thing ended up with no bid! I mean, I could offer to take it off the company’s hand.

I seriously pondered about it, but decided that with the conference schedule jampacked, and if I had to be by my Big Boss’ side the entire time to earn the 3 day as work day, that left me no time to be with my family. So, yeah, it could’ve been a good deal if I have vacation days left, but I don’t. *sigh*

Anyhoo. It came down to this for the week recap.

Monday – I worked a full day after a Friday of staying late at work.
Tuesday – I skipped half of lunch to assist the video guy with the video.
Wednesday – I left the office at 8 p.m.
Thursday – Event. I spent the night at Nhien’s.
Friday – Came to work late. Finished stuff and headed out at 1 p.m. James, Aurora and Shane picked me up from the bus station and we got fish tacos and beer. Brandon and I crashed for the rest of the afternoon.

Yesterday was a true sign that things have returned to normal in this neck of the woods.

I woke up around 10 and started the pot roast in the crock pot. Watched Food Network and then it was game time. USC barely escaped Washington 26-20. Holy fuckity! Yet, another reason I should start working out. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! If our team keeps this up, man, I’m not going to live to be 30.

After the game, Brandon and I went out for some frisbee golf. The course was PACKED. We kept getting stuck behind big groups even after the previous on let us play through. On top of that, I kept throwing into the trees. Yep. I’m definitely rusty.

We stopped and Trader Joe’s then came home, had dinner, and got caught up with the all the Tivo’ed stuff. I fell asleep on the couch. Brandon got me up and into bed. As I was taking my medication for the night, he made a joke.

And my god, I never choked on water/pill like that in my life!

I thought I was going to die. He thought I was going to die. I couldn’t catch my breath, kept getting water when I tried to breath in. I couldn’t tell him anything and he damn near come over to do a heimlich. Goodness gracious!! I kept coughing for another good 10 minutes, tears streaming.

Afterward though, we continued to giggle over the ordeal. Yep. My husband is so funny he almost literally killed me with a joke.

And here we are at another normal Sunday. We just sort of woke up. I started off with a blog and Brandon checked in on this game. Tomorrow we have the day off. Ah…I love being on County holiday schedule. 🙂

It’s good to be back!
