[ Read Part 1 ] I’m happy to report to you that I have finished cleaning up my client’s following list from over 3,100 down to just a little under 400. There is still some fat to trim and some tweeps to start following, but overall, we are off to a great start. Since I’ve gone through thousands of accounts, I came across many profiles and tweeting styles that baffled me. Some of them, in hindsight, I should’ve just taken

A Twitter Study: Rules to “Follow” By

unfollow

For this past month, I have been freelancing as a community manager for an advertising agency.  My job here was to interact with the community especially on the much neglected Twitter. I found it odd that there was so much junk and spam on their feed. And then I realized that this account was following over 3,100 people. And yes, the account was indeed following spammers, bots, fake accounts, and random people it should not be following. It seems that

Oddball Questions? Nah.

Got this from Despair.com

Olaina posted this article about craziest interview questions people were asked in 2011. I have never been asked anything crazy before, lucky me I guess. I was asked once about what social media campaign I think was successful. And my answer was nothing I can think of. Why not? Because so far nothing grab my attention as brilliant just yet. So there, I might’ve just shot myself in the foot but seriously. If it’s good enough, it would have had

One Year Shy of Three Cycles

The TARDIS

In the western world, you celebrate Sweet 16, your becoming legal at 18, your legally drinking age at 21, and then when you turn 30, 35, 40, 45 and what not. Us Thais, we traditionally celebrate every 12 years.  It’s a complete cycle in the Chinese zodiac. These years are supposed to be your milestones in life. At 12, you’re not little kid any more–you’re becoming a teenager.  At 24, you’re now becoming a responsible adult. At 36, you’ve got

Geek-style Brunch

OakMonster Hangout

I might have just done one of the geekiest things so far. A few Saturdays ago, I joined a tweet up tequila brunch via Google+ Hangout. Flash back about a year or so ago when Annette/@dananner, being the instigator of all things social media, introduced me to a very small group of tweeps who get up with the birds to go to work. Our little group  greet each other daily at the crack of dawn.  And once in a while

Getting All “Doctor” Up

Final draft

Obviously, we’re a Halloween household. I usually start planning the costumes earlier in the year. Some year, we don’t have to do too much. Some year, we’d go all out. This year, I am determined to go as the TARDIS incarnated as a cute blue dress [ETA] a blue velvet corset and a tutu with a hat that glows.  Here are my digital “drafts”, a quick and crude Photoshop image of what my outfit could/would look like. But out from

Not a party until a nerd walk in

August 5th, 2011 Comments Off

I have to admit, for most of the time, I can NOT stand Ke$ha. But once in a while, there are some pretty awesome nerd offshoot of the song that make it worthwhile. This one from my fellow geek girl Amy G. inspired this post. However, this one’s my favorite. What’s your plan this weekend, peeps?

Fashion + Science

Stand Back

Brandon sent me this video about a German designer who invented a new type of fabric made out of cow’s milk. You read that right. She invented the fabric. She was as scientist first. Fashion became a passion. So, she is actually a fashion designer AND a biologist. Nerd girls can have it all? Oh, yes.  Yes, we can. Now this lady just needs this shirt…

Don’t Insult the Browncoats

Firefly was first

Don’t get me wrong. I have been SUPER excited about seeing Cowboys & Aliens the moment the filming was announced. I have had Daniel Craig’s butt as my wall paper since it was first available. But as I’m sitting here watching this promo of the movie, as a fan of Joss Whedon’s Firefly series, I’m insulted and outraged by all of these people cooing about how a mash up of sci-fi and Western has NEVER BEEN DONE BEFORE. Bitch, please.
