My family is safe as far as I know. My oldest brother’s condo is close to PM Abhisit’s residence and that’s the closest to any action we’re going to get with my family, I hope.
Thaksin, you lying, scheming, selfish, power hungry, son of a bitch, shut the fuck up for God’s sake. You’re not doing anyone any good.

I’m sure the chatter was lively while I was having all sorts of dreams (Anthony Bourdain is my best dude friend…wow, yeah…) and a nightmare (a bat bit my hand in my dream so I screamed in my sleep and smacked Brandon with the “bat” hand and of course, startled the fuck out of him).
Nothing I can do from here by sending good mojo home. And secretly wishing that we could borrow that Navy SEAL sniper from that Somalia pirate takeover for some “negotiation”…

Hmmmm. You know, as a “falang” with a genuine interest in this whole situation, I really dont know what side I am on here anymore.
The previous actions of the yellow shirts, and their obvious contempt for the poorer sections of Thai society engendered some sympathy on my part for Thaksin’s followers. But now they (the redshirts) go and do this….at the WORST possible time for the country’s economy, they seem hellbent on destroying both Thailand’s reputation in the world, and its entire tourism sector. Its almost as though their actions have been deliberately calculated to cause maximum damage to the nation. It just beggars belief.
Also why is it that as I watch Mr T being interviewed, intellectually I can accept some of his arguments, but still I am left with an overwhelming impression of insincerity?? The bullshit-o-meter is off the scale as I listen to him state that he was not the instigator of these protests, and his only concern is for the poor and the downtrodden….
Also, correct me if I am wrong here, but didn’t Thaksin actually call upon these people to rise up and revolt, and state that he would return to lead them? So what he is really doing is fomenting civil war….or have I got the wrong end of the stick as usual?
Actually on second thought I do know what side I am on. I am on the side of the ordinary Thai people who are going to suffer because of the actions of these lunatics, red and yellow. Democracy. What sins are committed in thy name?!
