Just learned the chords for “To Be With You” by Mr. Big. Frighteningly, I still have the words memorized from back in the days.

Yeah, yeah. I’m a sucker for most of the songs on VH1 Most Awesomely Bad Love Songs Ever list, what I can tell you.

And yes, before you ask. I know how to play “More than Words”, let alone singing it…AND at some point in my life I can also harmonize the whole song.

My friend Amber and I did a duet for our senior year spring concert. Amber sang lead. I backed her up. But we did the song on a piano. Well, I was skilled enough to play and sing, but unfortunately because I was singing the harmony, if I didn’t screw up playing the guitar, I’d be off on harmony. So Mr. Benjamin, our choir director (and BESTest teacher, evah!) kindly suggested that I played it on the piano instead.

Another high school bad love song in my repertoire: Meat Loaf’s “I’d do anything for love (but I won’t do that)” as heard by me. Obviously, I play a lot by ears.

On a tangent: Holy shit. My 10 year reunion is coming up in July…
