Ah. A great day to be at home.
I’ve been putting in extra hours when I get home from work to finish our newsletter all week, banking up enough hours to have the day off.
Here lies the dilemma. The newsletter that I’ve been working on for the past 2 months was done on MS Publisher because we had no other programs that could do the job at the time.
As of the beginning of the month, I got a new computer with Quark on it, a high end layout program that I will be sent to learn to use in a few weeks. All our future layout will be prestine and print-ready. Yeah.
That’s right. I said FUTURE.
This new machine doesn’t come with Publisher. And we want the newsletter out ASAP. Since it’ll cost the company to buy the program which will be used for only this newsletter, it seems like a waste.
So I presented the solution of working on it on my home computer since I do have Publisher. A few hours once I get home everyday.
Here’s my daily schedule: I leave the building around 6 p.m. and the parking lot about 10 minutes after that. I get home around 7 p.m. By the time I cook/go get dinner and finish eating, it’s 9 p.m. A few hours go into 10-11-midnight. All week.
You can see why I’m CELEBRATING Friday the 13th right now.
