Once again, I <3 Stephen Colbert

Dear Stephen, You handle O’Reilly so well last night.  Although, I didn’t catch you nailing O’Reilly later on but I’m sure it’s on the TIVO. I love you not only because of your bravery to stand up for Truthiness, your fantastic adventures with Tek Jensen, and your ability to get your name on a bridge, into a mascot, and even an eagle, but because your show gave me tickets and swag to auction off at my organization’s gala last year. Yours, OakMonster...

Justice? What justice?

LA Times – 2 men freed in L.A. girl’s killing Police say the gunmen were firing in self-defense at a rival gang member when the girl, 9, was hit by a stray bullet that entered her Angelino Heights home. A few days after a bullet from a gang shooting tore into an Angelino Heights home last month, killing a 9-year-old girl, police announced with much fanfare that they had arrested the two gunmen. Not having a blast…

Bangkok explosions leave two dead *Update* Two more bombs exploded at Central World Plaza and Pratunam And now the tourists are getting hurt. The word on the streets is that it was either the Muslim insurgents from the south, revving up the violence and spreading it to the city. Or, a more possible scenario to me, Thaksin’s supporters stirred shit up. Either way, the typical gigantic public New Year celebrations were cancelled everywhere. Still, dad said that didn’t stop the private affairs in hotels around town. The fireworks were still going on when I spoke to him. The family is...

Honor

I feel honored by your over 10,000 visits, folks. I will show more of my appreciation in the coming days, namely after our big awards dinner on Thursday night. Let the madness past and I will be able to communicate more clearly. 🙂 In the meantime, the story below inspires a post. His Corps Value Was Bravery – Los Angeles Times On Nov. 10, 2004, in 30 minutes of close combat, Marine Pfc. Christopher Adlesperger attacked an enemy stronghold in Fallouja, Iraq, and killed at least 11 insurgents after they shot and killed his best friend. He also protected two...

This week is going swell…

Good News: An unofficial translation of the interim constitution has been posted on the Nation website. No, I haven’t read it. Too early for that crap. The interim government is forming. Yippee. Bad News: Especially when you have no hot water to shower with in the morning. Well at least the entire 10 minutes I stood around, waiting and waiting and waiting… So while waiting, I heated up a kettle of water and took a sponge bath. By the time I was done, the shower still ran cold. I’m planning on taking a hip-hop dance class tonight. I think I...

On the Road to Recovery

Interim Prime Minister has been named, and his name is General Surayud Chulanont. The former military leader is taking the spotlight among criticism that the “junta” is still controling the government for the year until the promised election. Sure, he has a military background, but he is also trusted by the King. If the King’s game, I’m game. Not to mention, picking Surayud for this post over the WTO guy (I’m sorry I forgot his name) is a good choice. Why? So when times come for the election, we’ll have someone qualified and available to run the country. The last...
