Alive and well

The Big Gala went off without a hitch.  Actually, went off a LOT better than we thought. However, now is the aftermath plus office Christmas prep PLUS packing. \ Next time you’ll hear from me either will be from Taipei or Bangkok…or Phuket. Paradise awaits.  Can hardly wait!!!...

Lights out

It was a productive day topped with office November birthday celebration.  I usually throw such parties but this one was taken off my hand.  Pat O. even surprised me with my own birthday cake!  The CEO who shares my birthday said that since I throw parties for everyone all year long, it is only fitting that I get my own cake this year.  🙂 A combination of crazy Big Gala work day and sugar high/lows, I needed a decompression session.  So our little gang stopped at Suede before heading home. I made the wrong bet and chanced the 110 instead...

Days gone by

Because of the timing of my Big Gala–and my self-inflicted funness that was Thrill the World–my time is running out before I head home for vacation.  I have to miss a few of my usual traditions around this time of year because I just don’t have the time or the right frame of mind for it. Couch potato

We got us a MSI Wind Notebook. Now I have a laptop to blog and work on stuff on from the couch. MLC told the visitor, “Usually, Nhien has the best view here. But today it’s kind of skanky out.” We all nodded. “Wait. MLC, did you just say the weather is skanky?” “Yeah. It’s all icky out there.  Why?” “Sweetie, I don’t think skanky means what you think it means any more these days.” “It’s not?” * MLC and another coworker dude huddled at my cubicle to vent. ...

It’s October!

Two things I love most about October: Halloween and beer. So far it hasn’t been a cold “fall”.  Heck, it was like 78 when I got to work at 7:30 a.m. this morning!  I think I will survive in my Princess Leia gitup after all.  Then again, I still have the Jedi cloak from last year to keep me warm and still in theme. October is building up to be a busy one already.  The Bus Party tomorrow is cancelled in lieu of the debate, so that free up a bit of time.  Hopefully my newsletter will go to print...
