Holy Trinity Weekend

It’s over. My big event is all done.  Hellooooo, normal life! Kind of. I have next week to get content to our web people and we need to launch that puppy at the end of next month. But today, I will wrap up other things and will lunch at Drago Centro. Yep. Treating myself to a Dine LA menu as a celebration of having managed a sold-out event and having been with the Office for 4 years. I’ve also been blogging a little prolifically at the food blog since I started to remember to pick up my camera when I...

My hero Valentine

It was a rainy Friday but folks in the office were keeping it warm and fuzzy inside with our lovely annual Valentine’s Day potluck.  I mean, look at this spread! I made the “How deep is your love? 7 layers!” Dip for the office. I ate more sweets that I’ve eaten any in weeks…in one morning.  The bourbon sauce on the bread pudding was awesome.  But soon after eating that, I started to get a little bit of a headache.  I thought it might be because I didn’t have caffeine today, so I went back to the spread for some...

I want to go home

I technically haven’t been “home” since Monday.  Work has been driving me bonkers with how crazy busy it’s been. I got home on Monday for 5 minutes and Brandon whisked me off to see “Taken”.  Holy crap, Liam Neeson is scary.  He really did carry the movie.  If it was somebody else, that movie would not have been that good.  But I digress. Tuesday was Spamalot night.  I didn’t get home until 8 p.m.  Brandon was nursing a stress/sinus headache when I got home so we just went to bed. Wednesday was yoga night.  Brandon finally was available to go...

Greased Lightning

My week came at me fast and left just as quickly. It seems like yesterday when I was just here, happily typing away, telling you guys about our hike at Holy Jim trail. Here we are, a week after.  Went by me in a blink. Inauguration Day was also our 7th wedding anniversary.  It was a new beginning for the country I live in and quite a momentous moment in my marriage. Last year, people said that America would rather elect a woman than a black man as president.  Here stands Barrack Obama in front of millions, the day after...

Mixed Blessings

Christmas Eve this year so far has been a mix bag of emotions. A few days ago, my Trojan “brother” Joel announced his engagement to his girlfriend Zoe.  Huge news! Yesterday, I was giggling at Rude Cactus’ video of his little girl Mia singing “Police Navidad” and giddy over 50% Christmas decoration sale at a flower shop in downtown. I also took the bus home after week of being shuttled around by my carpool buddy and got to say Merry Christmas to my other bus buddies. My cousin Nicky called to ask if I want to go the Rose Bowl...

Back to earth

Hey ya. I’m here. Sorry for the MIA.  You know, with jet lag and all, I’ve been going to bed at 8 p.m. all week and been playing catch up with work as well. We landed Monday night after quite a long journey.  The 7 hours spent putzing around Taipei airport during a layover could’ve sucked less if we would’ve found the Transit Hotel earlier.  Instead of napping on the benches in a quiet terminal, we could’ve been snuggled up in a comfy bed.  Oh well.  Next time, we know. Wednesday, I was at my board of investors’ holiday shindig...
