Temporal Rift

Brandon’s gone for the week. It’s wawy wawy qwayet it the house. Why is it that when your significant other goes away, suddenly you just don’t know what to do with your time? I mean, I still have the same stuff I have to do when he was here.  There are plans with friends and other people that I could have done on my own with him at home or not. But then, once he’s out, suddenly the same amount of time that I have seem to multiply even though if he was here, we would be doing pretty much...

Love. Labor. Loss.

LOVE On Saturday, two major events for me that set the happy tone for the rest of the long weekend. First, the Trojans kicked Virginia’s butt up and down the field 52-7 which put the team in #1 spot in AP poll.  Watching Mark Sanchez, our new quarterback, TACKLED some dude to block for his running back (tailback?) was just awesome. Still high on the Trojan spirit, Brandon and I flit up to town for the wedding of our friend Elan to her beau Chris.  The wedding took place at the beautiful hidden gem of Wilshire Ebell.  Elan actually used...

Irena and Danny are moving away to Massachusetts. And they’re getting married in May 2009. Please send all the good vibes their way! Irena’s fantastic friends hosted face and body paint artist Kari Ivey last night. Of course, I partook....

Never our plan II

The Christian God has been vying for my soul a bit heavily these past few weeks. Observe the long list of Catholic and Christian coincidences. #1 August 6 was the day of the dinner party with people on my last bus home. The bus was so unusually full in the morning that Tony who always sit in the back ended up in the front. Next to him was Robert, a gentleman who used to ride the bus when I started. We work in the same building. Since then he had stopped taking the bus, only popping up on the bus...

Sunday Morning

What I wrote to my brothers: I dreamed a lot last night. But one of the last thing was that I was home for Onk’s wedding. Don’t laugh. Who am I kidding. Laugh away! That’s the gist of the dream because it was all quite a bit mumbo jumbo. Something including the fact that dad’s was the only working shower in the house, that Ake still lives in his room and I am in mine, that we have a hot tub in the backyard (where I ended up having to take a bath in because daddy was STILL in the...
