I wrote this originally on June 9, a day after the death of Anthony Bourdain, all on my phone. Something I don’t usually do, but I had to get it off my chest. Entering the Anger stage of grief over here. Getting really annoyed at people talking about depression as if you have to be visibly crying and moping in public all the time, or that they should have reached out for help instead of keeping their problems to themselves. It doesn’t work that way. Depression drags you down, makes you feel worthless, useless, and unimportant so much so that...

I didn’t think I would find craft cocktails in Bangkok. I mean, American-style mixology and thoughtful craft cocktails; not the frou frou, tourist-trap, shaker-throwing type stuff the city hotels were known for. And I found it at Fillets on the third floor of The Portico Langsuan. (31 Soi Langsuan, Bangkok. +66 92 879 6882) Even two years ago when I was last in Bangkok, I could only find Jameson as an alternative to Johnny Walker and Gray Goose instead of Smirnoff. And here at Fillets, sitting pretty on the shelves is a variety of bourbon, whiskey, gin, and tequila that...

And it was done. YAY! The FIRST of my 2014 goals off the list. Let me conclude this journey properly in the same style of the series with the 5 Thoughts. #1 The question I get a lot is if eating all day helps lose weight. It wasn’t my goal to begin with so I couldn’t tell ya. I usually fluctuate from 110-115 lbs. through the whole month. I’m back to 110 again after it’s all done. But then again, I wasn’t working out during most of the month. MAYBE if I had stuck with my usual workout schedule and...

5 Thoughts Wow this month went fast! I can’t believe this challenge is over. I actually followed through with this 2014 goal. Yay me! I’m going to celebrate in style today and eat really, REALLY well! Bring on the feast! I haven’t over indulged in a meal this whole month…until now. Holy over eating, Batman… Now what am I going to write on my blog? LOL Today’s Photo As I said, best nostalgia for your buck. Breakfast The last of the leftover pork chop and vegetables. Second Breakfast Orange juice. Elevensies Shin Sen Gumi 1/2 bowl ramen with an egg...

5 Thoughts ONE more day at work before the weekend. We can get through this! TWO more days on this challenge. THREE is the speed of which I use to forward through Prisoners. That movie was much too slow even for a “slow burn.” FOUR thirty was my beauty appointment. Not 4:45 I thought it was. Whoops. FIVE forty five is my dinner appointment at Curtis Stone’s Maude next Tuesday. My coworker Alex has been on a waiting list. Once she got them on the phone, we pretty much picked apart the rest of the availability for June. Today’s Photo...

5 Thoughts You know today is going badly when you started sneezing right after you used your prescription allergy nose spray AND eye drop. I know that a day of sneezing fit is tiring. I didn’t know how much worse it would be when you add coughing to that too. I love my job and I adore my team. It’s so good to get to have lunch with all of them. Benadryl is a miracle drug. Benadryl usually makes me sleepy but somehow today I was extra drowsy. But then again, I had TWO other allergy meds already in my...
