Happy Wine-lentine’s Day!

I’m on my second glass of wine of the evening.I had a hell of a day at work. A sugar high that started early was sustained through the day with all the goodies people brought to the dessert potluck. Here are some pictures of that. Loads of new registrations for the event I can barely keep up and I am fast approaching room maximum capacity. B and I had a miscommunication that was resolved later in the day. Yadayadayada… Then the bus was late. It was a good 30 minutes late coming up to town and picking me up and...

A Baker’s Woe

Not only a baker eats her own creation to test the quality, she also has to suffer the sugar rush that follows. Hence, it’s 11 p.m. I’m tired as hell. But I can’t go to sleep. What did I make? I intended to make these: But I didn’t factor in the fact that my heart shape cookie cutter was as big as the cupcake itself…so I couldn’t really cut the shape out without destroying the cake. Doh! Stand up post

Pretty much, we got rid of the wicker chair that dubs as my suit/clothes to be ironed closet. So the clothes are on my chair. Oh yes. My anniversary present from Brandon is this: Yep. Suddenly my desktop trebuchet kit for Brandon looks so retarded. The rest of our anniversary was quite unexpected as well. We woke up late. Well, THAT was expected. I made brunch and we headed out to get our massage at the spa around 1. The massage and salt scrub was AMAZING! After that, we went across the parking lot for In N’ Out, then Ikea....

Ding! Oakz is done!

Yep. Done. Work? The craziness is picking up. Big event coming up in February and people are going to start registering. Guess who’s making all the collateral materials AND working on registration all at the same time? Home? I got home today and made dinner, did laundry AND do the dishes. I’m fucking tired, man. Brandon and I are adjusting to his new work hours. Brandon now gets home about the same time or just a tad later than me, but he has Fridays off. So what I’m used to his coming home to an already decompressed Brandon. That saves...

It’s 11 p.m.

My wake up call is 5:15 a.m. My back up wake up call is 5:30 a.m. Must leave the house by 5:45 a.m. I’m dead tired. But my hair needs a bit of air drying time.  Yep.  Washed my hair tonight to keep my wake up call at 5:15 instead of 4:45. Brandon decided to turn our wall heater on for the first time all winter.  I LOVE HIM!!! Mother Nature has been throwing us some cold spell lately.  This morning, I stepped off my car on to the patch of grass on the sidewalk.  Itsy bitsy crunching noises came...
