Epiphanies

1. New Year’s Eve in Southern California was positively gorgeous. The weather was mild. Not a cloud in the sky. I haven’t been looking up at the sky that much, to tell you the truth. My life has recently been consisted off getting on the bus just as the sun comes up, leaving the building for lunch amidst Downtown LA’s highrises, and getting home after the sun has gone to sleep. But last Sunday, I looked toward the Big Blue. I have never felt so small. All of the sudden, I realized how big the sky is and how far...

Out with the old

…and some of the new too. Folks. Our fridge is, for now, officially dead. Monday morning, as I stumbled out of the bathroom after all the vomiting, in search for a glass of lightly iced water, I opend the freezer to find water dripping from the ice dispenser. (We have a built in ice maker but we didn’t have the water hook up in this apartment. So Brandon has been buying chipped ice to put in the ice storage.) I poked at the Jimmy Dean frozen breakfast sandwich in the door compartment. The biscuit was soft. The box frozen peas...

5 Nuggets

1. Kitz changed the look of her blog last night as well. Great minds think alike! 2. Amy called to let me know she was bringing the birthday card for us to sign for Eva. (Happy Birthday, darling!) I was suddenly reminded that I should probably deck out her cubicle before she gets there. “Good morning,” chimed Eva, not 2 seconds after I hung up the phone. Well, crap. So much for the birthday ambush. Timing is frelling everything, isn’t it? That reminded me of when we tried to surprise Amy last month. We were all in her office, putting...

Back in Business

Hello my darlings! I’m back! I’m BACK! Thanks you guys for keep stopping by and checking in on me and shooting me emails. Really happy to know I was missed. The event came and went on Thursday. Tons of headaches and a case of disappearing tables, but we worked through it just fine. Pretty good turn out and everyone had a great time. My friend Eva transformed me from the spectacled tomboy-geek into a gorgeous little Asian goddess. She also did make up on Amy and Celeste. So there you go. Look at the hottest women of the evening! (No...

Inappropriate Friday

I am the queen of all the inappropriate comments today. Even got Brandon beat on the last one. Inappropriateness #1 Coworker Guy walked by, saying hi to everyone. Girl Next Cube: Wow. Someone’s in a good mood. Me: Sure sounds like it. Girl Next Cube: He must have gotten some. Me: Probably did. Girl Next Cube: [Seconds later, looking at something on the internet.] Oooooh. I want that. Me: You want SOME? Inappropriateness #2 Coworker Lady sneezed loudly. We couldn’t see her but we heard her loud and clear. Yesterday she showed up with a visibly swollen gland on her...

Never forget

I’ve mentioned a few times on this blog that I’m still not comfortable seeing images from 9/11 especially the World Trade Center. Tears well up everytime I see a picture of the Twin Towers burning. It just brings out all sorts of emotions from that day. Tonight, Inside 9/11 was on National Geographic Channel. I caught it right around the section where the Pentagon was just hit. Apparently, this is an updated of the original. Being that I haven’t seen it the first time, I figured I’d watch it a bit. You know, get all the bits and pieces I...
