So the Lesser Weevils had our little fundraiser dinner tonight at Thai Issan in Cerritos. Samone and Tom, the owner, graciously donated 10% of our tab to AIDS Walk. And they are promising 15% donation from now until June 27, one week after the walk (which I can still turn my money in, I think) at their other restaurant, the Delightful Crepes Cafe in Long Beach. The Yelp review for the place is a little iffy. Even I who had been there once think the place still needs a little work. But they ARE working on improving the menu. Give...

I struggled to remember the 10 Golden Rules of college per the instruction of my awesome high school Physics teacher, Ed Cunningham. A few of them I had committed to memory as I managed to follow them for at least the first semester freshman year. You know, before the rest of your college life actually encroached on your studying. Sunday was all of about the boys. Starting with this heartbreaker. In “Day After Tomorrow”, a massive tornado ripped through Los Angeles. Yesterday, a baby one touched down in Riverside. Miraculously, nobody got hurt. If you look at my Twitter history there, you’ll see my weather report from atop the 34th floor of Downtown Los Angeles. A row of what I think are jasmine bushes underneath our bedroom window have bloomed for the past few weeks. I didn’t know the neighbor apartment has such plant. I mean, I haven’t smelled it since we moved in, I don’t think. The first time I caught a whiff of this season’s bloom though, I thought to myself… “Mom’s visiting.” It didn’t help that the first time, I was the only one who caught the scent. I may hide my extra 5 lbs. gain well. But when none of my 3 pants-suits and 2 skirt-suits fits, it’s a sign. My expanded hips, strangely, interferes with the length of my pants. All of my pants on the suits are cut a little loose because I hate tight pants. So all of them sag a little to the floor and therefore give me room for the heels. Now my Asian J-Lo butt fills in to the pants so they fit correctly. However, my length of the pants are affected. They are all too short for any non-sneakers/flipflop shoes...
