Day 16: Halfway There

5 Thoughts

  • It’s the halfway point, you guys! We’re almost through with the challenge. Are you all hanging in there with me? Good.
  • My day of appointments was planned a week ago but it worked out beautifully after the two week of craziness I just had. I spent half a day running errands and the other half working from home.
  • Working from home is super productive and kind of therapeutic after the past two days…except when it’s a million degree in my home office. But I survived.
  • And then we some news that pretty much trumped any other thought I had today…

Thought #5 and Today’s Photo

Remember Brandon’s string of bad luck? Sprained neck before Easter, followed by a car accident a few days after that, and a broken toe right after that?

Well, somewhere in there, he broke off a piece of his neck/spine, the spinal process, that spikey part in the back of the vertebrae. And he suffered a whiplash so severe he lost that curvature we all have in that part of our neck. See that yellow line? His neck should be aligned with that, not shot straight up like where it is.

That explains a lot. But we still have to wait until Monday to find out more.

Meanwhile, we’re all okay. He’s still in pain but at this point, that’s not even new to him now.

*sigh*

Breakfast

3 scrambled eggs.

Second Breakfast

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf regular Hazelnut Ice Blended coffee.

Elevensies

I shared a Panda Express 2-item combo with Brandon. I ate mostly the chowmein and orange chicken.

Lunch

Some fruits.

Afternoon Tea

Leftover Chipotle guacamole and chips

Supper

In-N-Out cheeseburger, animal style, with extra well done fries.

A super satisfying meal after the kind of day we just had.

Dinner

I’m counting Zzzquil as a meal.

I was so exhausted I went to bed at 7:30 p.m. Sleeping has been difficult this week because of the heat and the fact that Brandon’s pain got him tossing and turning more often than usual, and therefore I was awake a lot too.

For those who just now joined in, here’s why I’m going on “The Hobbit Diet” of eating seven times a day for a month.
