Social, Media and otherwise

Hi there. I haven’t been home in the evening since Monday. And the trend is not stopping.  Sorry for the pauses in posting. Monday night I was at Face2Face: Elton John and Billy Joel concert.  I treated James, my fellow piano man, to this as his belated birthday and early Christmas presents.  We enjoyed ourselves tremendously.  Billy Joel rocked my socks off and Elton John wowed me silly.  I got a few horrible cell phone video clips I’ll post later. Yesterday, our former colleague Erin returned to the office to temp for a week while she’s on break from school. ...

The Weary’s Quick Rest

St. Patty’s was a hit both at work and at home.  A great turn out at the office with everything from cookies to green deviled eggs.  9 people showed up at my doors for the Guinness Stew and a little bit of drinking.  The old gang hung out well with my new friends from Tweet Up, Annette @dananner and Wyatt @phraktyl. A lesson we learned?  Don’t ever give Phraklet, Phraktyl’s son, a Mountain Dew. Ever. Again.  LOL. I didn’t drink all that much at St. Patty’s.  Just an Irish Car Bomb I did with Annette and Wyatt and a couple...

Port of Love

Long Beach Tweet Up group led by @DaNanner (aka Annette), with the help of @LBMatt outdid ourselves today with the photo walkabout at the Port of Long Beach.  Well, Matt got us interested with the Port’s photo contest.  And then as the Tweet Up started to take shape, he got his boss involved. And here we were this morning at the Port Authority building, getting access to the rooftop and driven down winding and confusing roads around the port in the POLB vans to take great photos. Of course, the AWESOME group of people we hung out with for two...

Golden Boy

All of us survived the Oscars Marathon.  Olaina and I actually stayed for all five.  There was a good 45 minutes break between Ben Button and Slumdog Millionaire.  We all had a wonderful time. I still like Slumdog Millionaire best.  An FB friend raised a question of Slumdog being overrated and that there are better screenplays out there that should win.  I agree with him on that.  Lord knows how the Academy votes this year.  Are they looking at the craftsmanship?  That case, Benjamin Button should take the cake for the epic scale.  Screenplay and directing? Perhaps Frost/Nixon should win...

I want to go home

I technically haven’t been “home” since Monday.  Work has been driving me bonkers with how crazy busy it’s been. I got home on Monday for 5 minutes and Brandon whisked me off to see “Taken”.  Holy crap, Liam Neeson is scary.  He really did carry the movie.  If it was somebody else, that movie would not have been that good.  But I digress. Tuesday was Spamalot night.  I didn’t get home until 8 p.m.  Brandon was nursing a stress/sinus headache when I got home so we just went to bed. Wednesday was yoga night.  Brandon finally was available to go...

Greased Lightning

My week came at me fast and left just as quickly. It seems like yesterday when I was just here, happily typing away, telling you guys about our hike at Holy Jim trail. Here we are, a week after.  Went by me in a blink. Inauguration Day was also our 7th wedding anniversary.  It was a new beginning for the country I live in and quite a momentous moment in my marriage. Last year, people said that America would rather elect a woman than a black man as president.  Here stands Barrack Obama in front of millions, the day after...
