Phototastic Friday: Monday Edition

A lot has happened since last weekend. But most of them captured in photos. First, last Saturday we had the photography meet up in Lancaster with #Phototwop (@captures) for the Poppy Reserve hike and the Poppy festival.  Unfortunately, we were much too late for the poppies except for a few patches on the side of the road.  We still had a great picnic and a maniacal hike up a VERY windy hill. The next day, Brandon and I and his friends hit the Renaissance Faire as civilians.  Armed with our cameras, we got our Ren Faire photo bugs out of...

Glee

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNU0KoBIIdE] The show hasn’t even started yet but I have Glee on my brains. Talentless little outcast who just wants to sing.  My life story?  Yep, pretty much. Also, once a choir geek, always a choir geek. Since I saw the clip a couple of days ago, I have music–just random songs–playing in my head all day and caught myself walking around singing or humming. Not that I’ve been extraordinary happy or anything.  I just feel like singing. I mean, I was waiting for the bus today.  Looking around the people around me, I imagined myself breaking into a song....

Obligatory Earth Day Message

Happy Earth Day. I’m not much of an environmentalist but I’m slowly becoming a plastic bag usage nazi. I have canvas bags in my car and use them for my grocery shopping everywhere, and I refuse to take any plastic bags whenever I can carry my own loot out of the store…which was met with a LOT of  “Are you sure?” Yes I AM sure I can carry my prescription and a bottle of Nyquil out on my own. Yes I AM sure a loaf of bread, a pack of sliced cheese, and 2 tomatoes won’t need a bag. Yes...

Running Ragged

Funniest quote of the weekend: We rode the Passport bus to the Grand Prix and back from Alamitos Bay.  Somewhere by the Bluff on our way back, we spotted a couple of ladies walking down the street holding hands. The woman in front of us turned her head completely, pointing at the couple, excitedly telling her friend, “Oh my GOD! Girl, look! Look!  Lesbians holding hands!” The friend wore a Lakers hat and she didn’t really turn her head to look back, so I could only assume she’s local. I live in a diverse existance and I am an openminded...

TGI-frakkin’-F!

Oh yeah. Friday was a HELL of a day. It actually started Thursday night. Thursday night We had dinner and sampled ridiculous variety of beer with Paul and Lupe at Beachwood Barbecue. I finally had my Mac and Cheese, the BEST I’ve had and lord knows  how many sips of whats I had.  Nice and buzzed, I got home to a monstrous task of trying to watch most DVR’ed shows as I can before we get the box replaced on Friday.  And what a week to have the DVR taken away too!  Since I haven’t been home all week, Brandon...

Animal Planet

#1 first day in COW SCHOOL Found on Flickr by Wild*Dreams. We were watching a National Geographic documentary Stone Henge Decoded. There was a scene when the archeology team starts to dig around the outside of the Durrington Walls.   There was a shot of all these cows gathered by the fence, seemingly to gawk at the humans.  Kind of like this. “How cute!”  Suddenly, a thought occurred to me. “Look at all them lookymoos!” *** #2 Southern California finally returns to its natural state of sunny and warm this weekend. “I’m sooo glad we can be out and about...
